Computer courses test outs

• Only accepted ATCC students can attempt to test out of these courses.
• Each exam may only be attempted once.
• The test out exams must be taken on the ATCC campus and are administered in the Testing Center, room 112.
• Exams must be scheduled in advance by contacting the Testing Center at 320-762-4487, 888-234-1222 ext 4487, or email.
• A $30 non-refundable exam administration fee must be paid in advance at the ATCC Business Office.

• Required items to bring when taking the exam:

  • Student ID
  • $30 exam administration fee receipt from ATCC Business Office

• Exams are computerized and timed.
• Exams can be taken prior to registration in the class or within the five day drop/add period of the semester if registered for the course.

• There are two portions to the test out exam: multiple choice theory and a three-part application.

  • Theory portion may consist of general computer hardware & software, operating systems, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Theory exam must be passed with 70% or greater to be eligible to attempt the application exam.
  • Application is three parts that covers Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Each part of the application exam must be completed with a score of 70% or greater.
    

• Utilizing other resources during the exam session constitutes cheating and is an automatic fail.
• A successful test out will be transcripted as "CR" and will reflect successful credits but will not affect GPA.
